about the Author
Kerri writes from a place of deep reflection, intergenerational healing, and personal transformation. Raised in a time when children were expected to be “seen and not heard,” she spent much of her life suppressing emotions—only to later realize how that silence shaped her relationship with herself and others.
Now, as a grandmother, she brings her hard-earned emotional insight into every page she writes. “I can’t change the past,” she says, “but I can help give the next generation a head start.”
Her books are meant to help children:
-
Recognize the signals their bodies send
-
Understand that emotions are normal—and temporary
-
Learn that feelings are teachers, not facts
Her writing style is poetic, sensory, and rooted in the natural world. She uses the elements—wind, water, roots, and earth—as mirrors for emotional experiences, cultivating a bridge between what children feel and what they see around them.
“As a neurodivergent person, I don’t always recognize emotions until they become really big,” she explains. “I want to help kids tune into the smaller cues in their bodies so they can understand what’s happening earlier. That awareness is the foundation for everything.”
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on cognitive neuroscience, Kerri combines scientific insight with deep personal experience to guide others through self-regulation, emotional healing, and intuitive growth. Though she has not held formal roles in clinical psychology or education, her lived experience as a trauma survivor, energy practitioner, and neurodivergent woman gives her a unique and powerful lens.
Her children’s book series invites readers to gently explore their emotions through the wisdom of the natural world. These poetic stories reflect her belief that emotional intelligence is a lifelong skill—and that it’s never too early (or too late) to learn.

Books & Projects
Kerri is the author of Can You Hear the Whispers of the Wind?, a poetic SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) book that introduces the concept of intuition through nature. The story follows Amaris, a child who learns to listen to the quiet guidance within by paying attention to the wind, animals, and sensations in their body.
Her upcoming books continue to explore emotional growth through elemental metaphors:
-
The Water Knows the Way: Navigating Big Feelings with Flow
A story about emotional regulation, using the image of a stormy stream to teach children how breath and co-regulation help emotions move rather than get stuck. -
Roots That Reach, Branches That Grow
A tale of empathy, social awareness, and interconnectedness, using the wisdom of trees to explore relationship skills and compassion. -
The Echo in My Heart
An introduction to self-worth, self-talk, and internal safety—encouraging children to nurture their own inner voice with kindness.
